Give me your rentboys, your whores, your not quite monogamous masses yearning to. Well. You know.

Location: A room. Of some sort.
Time: Not important, but probably late afternoon to early evening.

Seth Cuthbert, a small, slight boy with short Holocaust survivor hair stepped into the room. He stared at each of the gray walls, then sat down on a couch that seemed to be one of the main decorative features. After a moment, he was confronted by the entrance of another boy, an equally small, pretty sort of a boy in a top hat and a cravat. They were men's clothes, although the boy looked hardly older than sixteen. Seth blinked. "Hello," he said.

"Hello," said the pretty boy. "I'm the Saint. Who are you?"

"I'm Seth Cuthbert," said Seth, slightly puzzled. "You're a saint?"

"No. The Saint. It is different," the Saint informed him laboriously, and sat down next to him on the couch, a good deal closer than Seth would have liked. "And now," he added. "We wait."

"We wait for what?" asked Seth somewhat nervously. There was something fundamentally indecent about the Saint.

The Saint shrugged. "For the people to come. I expect they will. I," he added, with a flourish of one hand, "am a magnet. For people. Pretty people especially."

"I think you give yourself too much credit," said Seth

"You're here, aren't you?" pointed out the Saint.

Seth looked blank, then settled down to pout for a bit.

The Saint waited patiently, toying a bit with his top hat brim.

"I'm glad," Terence said, "I'm glad you're glad, I mean." He yawned. "You're still nice and warm and lovely," he muttered indistinctly, tracing nonsensical patterns over what parts of Seth his hands happened to find, "and I'm happy to be here, too."

"Thanks," said Seth, with an equal lack of articulation, and reached up to kiss Terence's cheek. "Will you be offended if I fall asleep on you?" he asked, laughing a little. "It's not that you're boring...you're...mmmh. You are quite the opposite. But I think I might, which might bother you, I don't know..."

"No," Terence said, "hope it doesn't bother you if I - but hey, wait. You're going to be sorry when you wake up, if you leave these on, he observed, plucking at Seth's binding through his shirts.

"Ahh," said Seth, a short intake of surprised breath. "Don't worry," he added pre-emptively, "Don't worry, I'm fine, but you're right. Hang on, I - do you mind if I go off behind the couch or - or something - I'm sorry, but I would, you know, like to be able to breathe."

"Not at all," Terence said. "I'm not going anywhere. Promise not to look." He closed his eyes as if to illustrate this point.

"I," Seth admitted, "do not want to get up. Not even remotely." He laughed dustily and did so anyway, although not without running one hand lazily through Terence's hair. He disappeared behind the couch, reaching under his shirts for the safety pins and bandages. "Do you mind if I touch you like this?" he called from his crouched position, more than ready for a refusal.

"Like what?" Terence asked, eyes still closed. "Oh, like that. Yeah, no, I don't mind at all," he attested, cracking one eye. "Get back up here," he demanded petulantly, belatedly adding "please."

Seth stood up, his body still hidden under the absurdity of shirts. He returned to his earlier position, crossing skinny arms over his chest. "That's a relief," he remarked almost guiltily, burying his head in Terence's shoulder.

Terence rubbed absently at Seth's back. "Hey," he said, "it's all right. I'm not, like, repulsed, and I'd never do anything you don't want me to." Terence was prone to babbling after good sex and prior to a good nap, and did so. "I mean. The boy - man, actually, he was twenty-four - I was with who was, you know, also transsexual, had scars instead of, you know, and I liked them, the scars, and I think he liked that I liked them, but I know it's a different thing, but it does get better, you know, I mean, it isn't forever that you have to have. You know." He kissed the top of Seth's head where it rested. "It must suck," he decided. "I really wish it didn't, because you're so nice and I really like you." He yawned, trailing off into a contented incoherence.

"I guess it does suck," Seth said without much energy. "I try to avoid thinking about that. Funny," he continued, yawning rather deeply, "that you were with another. You know. How old were you anyway? That's a bit of a gap, there."

Terence laughed. "Yeah, it is. I was seventeen, by the time I persuaded him to do anything. When we got caught - he was my English teacher, actually - I was almost eighteen, and then he moved to Los Angeles and that's that," he said with a flippancy he did not in fact feel. "I still love him. Even though. I mean. Sometimes, it's just a thing you have to live with, I guess." His tone was dull and flat.

"What - really?" Seth sat up just slightly. "My English teacher is - I don't think he's transsexual, but he got fired because he had an affair with a kid. A student. I can understand why you'd love him, he's sort of insanely nice. I thought it was - what school?"

"The Queensberry," Terence said. "His name's George." He paused. "I'm sorry, it's really rude to talk about exes and things, especially after we've just, you know."

"No, not at all." Seth rose up onto one elbow. "But - George Stanton?"

Terence sighed. "Yeah, George Stanton. George Lytton Stanton, in case there's another George without the weird middle name. He's wonderful."

((Post-George Terence must never become real. He breaks my heart.))

"He is," Seth agreed, reaching up to touch Terence's cheek. "Do you write him or anything?"

((I know. He won't. I require that they live together, GeorgeandTerence, in domestic bliss in perpetuity.))

"I," Terence began. "It's hard. He ended it pretty clearly before he left, and all I want to write is sheets and sheets of love letters, but I can't, so they're like, they're like fucking telegrams." He caught Seth's hand. "Thanks for letting me be all depressing like this." There was a moment before Terence processed all of Seth's earlier dialogue, and then: "Wait. You know him? How is he? Is he okay? Does he teach where you go to school? Is he still all freckly?"

"Oh. That's awful. But yeah! I know him. And yeah, he teaches me." Seth began to grin, an idea popping into his head. "Hang on, do you want me to talk to him for you? It's the least I can do. Because he is fucking miserable without you is how he is. I knew there was a reason he was that weepy. I knew it. And yeah," he finished rather fondly, "he's still all freckly. I mean, all the visible bits."

"I don't know," Terence sighed. "He said it was impractical for the two of us to stay together. I think he's pissed at me. I mean, I sort of got him fired. And. You know."

"Well," Seth explained philosophically, "you'll never know if you don't try. I can always ask. And it is a bit impractical. Where do you live?"

"Opposite coast," Terence said. "I guess you never do know, but I do know, but you can try if you want, you're so fucking nice." He kissed him on the cheek, gratefully.

"Yeah," said Terence. "I'm very sorry. For bringing it up. I like you, I do, really, and I don't mean to imply that you're, like, to fill up space, because I like you because of you, you know?" He worried at his lip with irritatingly straight teeth. "Sorry," he said again.

"'S all right, don't worry," Seth replied, somewhat surprised by Terence's courtesy. "No, I get it. Really. I mean." He stopped for a moment. "It's obviously not just because of That Thing. Because you came onto me before you knew."

"Yeah," Terence said, "true. I just like boys, and I don't see how you're any different." He yawned hugely, cracking his jaw. "Think it would be too weird if we fell asleep together, now that you're probably picturing me with your monkish English teacher right now in your head?"
