Home sweet home

((New post, because it is good for the universe. I would like to applaud all of the Cravat's fine members for not making a home/Holmes pun, nor yet a Holmesosexual pun. Not yet.))

Location: The Cravat
Time: Out of time

Sherlock Holmes and John Watson stumbled out of the portal, Watson still a little wide eyed at the prospect of time travel, Holmes retaining his famous composure. They stood in wait of the others, avoiding each other's eyes.

As far as Gabe was concerned, the entire world around them had stopped existing the second he'd taken Jeannot into his arms. He pressed into Jeannot's kiss, finally moving away for a moment. "Love you," he said, not caring if they were overheard, before leaning back in to kiss his love tenderly.
Jan. 14th, 2007 11:00 pm (UTC)
Jeannot twined his arms around Gabe's neck, pulling him closer, making the kiss last as long as he possibly could. At last, though, he pulled away slightly, smiling at Gabe rather breathlessly. "Can we just stay here?" he murmured, knowing they couldn't, but hopeful anyway.
Jan. 14th, 2007 11:19 pm (UTC)
Gabe laughed. "We should," he said, placing a kiss on Jeannot's cheek. "They can find a way to amuse themselves, even if it is being awkward and talking about Watson's wife." He kissed Jeannot right below the ear. "Being awkward is practically an art form for them, anyhow," he whispered, brushing his lips against Jeannot's skin.
Jan. 14th, 2007 11:34 pm (UTC)
The feel of Gabe's lips on Jeannot's skin made him press closer yet. He shivered in pleasure, running his hands down Gabe's back, enjoying the feel of him so close. He realized that the door was still partially open, after a moment, and broke away from Gabe to push it closed, the thought of what Holmes and Watson would think of that barely crossing his mind. He smiled almost shyly at his lover, leaning back against the door as though to block out the rest of the world with the weight of his body. "It is difficult, to think of Watson as his lover," he said softly, just watching Gabe, admiring him.
Jan. 15th, 2007 12:05 am (UTC)
Gabe sighed when Jeannot left his arms, reluctant to let him go, but didn't mind once he realized what he'd gone to do. "Isn't it, though?" he replied, smiling "The Great Detective having feelings!" He shook his head. "It makes a little more sense if you talk to him alone. He's trying to do the honorable thing and leave Watson to his wife, but, G-d knows, the honorable thing is hard. I doubt it'll stick for too long, especially since they're rooming together."
Jan. 15th, 2007 12:20 am (UTC)
Jeannot frowned slightly and shook his head. "Watson loves his wife," he told his lover. "And he is--" He bit his lip, trying to think of a way to say it. "He is a bit like Henri, about the idea of buggery," he said slowly. "I think he truly loves M. Holmes with his heart, but to sleep with him?" He shook his head again, looking sober, wondering suddenly what Holmes's relationship with the stranger in the bar had been -- if they were merely lovers, or if Holmes loved that man and was not being honest with Watson about his feelings. Jeannot sighed at the thought, hoping that it was not the truth, and looked up at Gabe. "And his wife is ill," he said, returning to his original thought. "He worries about her. I do not think that he will return to M. Holmes, with so much standing between them." And, he added in his mind, with what I told him, feeling guilty again.
Jan. 15th, 2007 12:31 am (UTC)
Gabe shrugged. "I suppose we could place bets, but I think that would be in slightly bad taste," he said, slightly puzzled by the guilty look on Jeannot's face. "What is it?" he asked, walking over to Jeannot and taking his hand.
Jan. 15th, 2007 12:49 am (UTC)
Jeannot squeezed Gabe's hand tightly, looking into his face. "Do you remember the man in the bar, chéri? The man who was with M. Holmes, whom he was embracing when we came back from the little room, after I painted you?" He shook his head, thinking that Gabe could probably guess where this was going.
Jan. 15th, 2007 01:04 am (UTC)
"Oh," Gabe said, his eyes going slightly wide. "You told Watson?" He shook his head. "That is a problem, though I suppose it's better that it came out now, rather than later. I mean, Holmes will be pissed now, but if the proverbial cat clawed its way out of the bag while he was going through cocaine withdrawal..." He shuddered a bit at the thought of an angry and cocaineless-Holmes. "We're really going to have to tip-toe around him for a while."
Jan. 15th, 2007 01:15 am (UTC)
"It was foolish of me," Jeannot muttered, still feeling guilty. He leaned his head back against the door, frustrated with himself. "Watson is married, and so I thought that M. Holmes would be free to--" He sighed and shook his head. "But he is so very upset. I should not have told him. And-- cocaine withdrawal?" He frowned, mentally adding it to the list of things he was not understanding at the moment. "What is that?"
Jan. 15th, 2007 01:34 am (UTC)
"You'd think so, wouldn't you?" Gabe said. "It's perfectly realistic to expect fidelity inside of a relationship, but once it's over it's stupid to expect either partner to remain celibate forever. It's kind of childish for him to become upset. After, all he was the one who did the leaving." He shrugged. "Oh. Cocaine is a drug, and a relatively addictive one. Holmes did it very seriously. Watson disapproved and left his stash at Baker Street even though he knew Holmes expected him to take it. He'll start going through withdrawal once his body realizes that he's stopped taking the drug, and I've heard it's pretty nasty, though I've never seen it first hand. I only did coke once, and it was a different kind from what Holmes did." He hadn't really meant to say that last bit aloud.
Jan. 15th, 2007 02:05 am (UTC)
Jeannot nodded slowly. "He will be like an opium-eater who can no longer get his poppy?" he asked, thinking he understood, and shivered. "I should not like to see that," he said softly, remembering his experiences with the drug. Jeannot sighed and dropped his eyes, rubbing at his forehead with a hand. "The doctor is doing his friend good, I think," he said earnestly, defending his new friend. "He does love M. Holmes, though I can't think why."
Jan. 15th, 2007 02:21 am (UTC)
"Like that, yes, though I suppose the symptoms will be different," Gabe said. He pulled Jeannot closer to him, not liking the way his lover had shivered, and embraced him again. "And I agree that Holmes needed to quit, though it probably would've been smarter to taper it off gradually to reduce the blow. I figured Watson would've thought a little more carefully about it, being a medical man, but..." In absence of anything real to say, he kissed Jeannot's forehead. "Holmes is intelligent, that could be it. Without him I wouldn't've been able to find you again." The mere thought of the earlier goings on made him pull Jeannot a little closer.
Jan. 15th, 2007 02:31 am (UTC)
Jeannot sighed and leaned back against the door, holding Gabe to him. "I'm glad you did find me, aimé," he whispered. And he was, despite the pain of finding and then losing Alexandre again. At the thought of his first love, he pulled Gabe closer and kissed him fiercely, almost desperately, wanting to forget all of that, wanting to remember that he was in the present -- whatever the present meant, here -- and that Alexandre was dead and buried.
Jan. 15th, 2007 03:03 am (UTC)
At first Gabe was surprised by the ferocity of his lover's kiss, but after a moment he kissed Jeannot back equally forcefully, pinning him against the door. He realized, somewhere in the back of his mind, that the two men on the other side would probably be able to see the door move slightly at the force of their actions, but he was too otherwise occupied to care.
Jan. 15th, 2007 03:15 am (UTC)
Reckless, wanting his lover badly, Jeannot pressed into Gabe's kiss, moving his hands to Gabe's coat to undo the buttons quickly, pushing it off of his lover's shoulders and beginning on his waistcoat buttons in the same minute. He hesitated for the barest moment then, his hands slowing as he recalled his conversation with Watson about his weakness, but he shook his head determinedly to banished the thought and continued on his singleminded quest to undress Gabe as quickly as possible.
Jan. 15th, 2007 03:39 am (UTC)
((This is totally the Victorians's cue to pull open the door and leave Gabe and Jeannot in a very flustered pile on the floor. Sigerson, I am looking at you.))

Gabe's lips left Jeannot's for a second, only just long enough for a breath, but very quickly returned to him, sucking and nibbling on his neck. Gabe took his arms from around his lover to pull his jacket the rest of the way off, tossing it off into a corner, and then wrapped them very firmly around Jeannot's waist, attempting to bring him even closer, though he was unsure if it was possible.
Jan. 15th, 2007 03:56 am (UTC)
((You know, Baxter, that I am at your beck and call.))

The door was suddenly thrown open by Holmes, his lips pursed, his expression calm and collected. For a moment he simply looked at the heap of gay on the floor, then turned back to Watson, who had turned red for the twelfth time that day, and said shortly, "I told you. And I rest my case."

Watson sputtered.
Jan. 15th, 2007 03:57 am (UTC)
((Jeannot would be terribly embarrassed. I feel certain that he would pull through, though.))

Jeannot made a noise that was half-moan, half-whimper at the feel of Gabe's lips on his neck and arched against his body, fingers still working determinedly at Gabe's buttons. He finished with the waistcoat and tugged at the cloth, urging Gabe to get rid of it, and pulled away from his lover to work at his own buttons, shrugging off his coat in short order. He tangled his fingers in Gabe's hair and pulled him close again, kissing him with all the passion he'd kept in check around the other two men. Moving his hands to Gabe's lower back, he slid them underneath the other man's shirt and up his back, pressing Gabe closer to him still as he mapped his lover's skin.
Jan. 15th, 2007 04:03 am (UTC)
((Or, you know, we could just post at the same time and confuse the heck out of everybody. Er. Sorry. I stand by my post, though, because I like Gabe half-nekkid.))

Jeannot yelped as the door behind him suddenly gave way and he tumbled to the floor, the impact taking his breath away. He was too winded to do anything but lie there, wide-eyed, staring up in mortification and horror at the two men who were staring right back at him.
Jan. 15th, 2007 04:15 am (UTC)
((Linearness is for wimps. So's using real words to describe things. Also, I have a Sigerson at my beck and call? Everything I've ever wanted! Also, 'heap of gay.' <333))

Gabe was slightly unsure of what had happened. One moment he had his lover pinned up against a door, and the next both of them were sprawled on the floor. After he heard Holmes's voice, though, he knew exactly what had transpired. "I don't know what makes me angrier," he said, righteously pissed, pushing himself off of Jeannot and sitting upright, brushing himself off. "That you were discussing what we doing or that you actually thought it was appropriate to open that door."
Jan. 15th, 2007 04:32 am (UTC)
"Appropriate?" Holmes said, thin lipped. "Frankly, at this point, Rosenburg, appropriate is a miniscule and ever diminishing point upon the horizon. However," he added, "I'm right. That satisifies me." He shrugged. "Watson?"

Watson had stared for a moment, but he averted his eyes almost immediately. Now he turned to his friend in consternation. "Holmes, I absolutely cannot concieve - you are truly -" He settled for glaring hotly at him, but staring at Holmes had its own effects on his thought process. "Incorringible," he finished, somewhat lamely. "Now, I believe you owe these gentlemen an apology."
Jan. 15th, 2007 04:37 am (UTC)
Jeannot sat up carefully, actually glad that Holmes had interrupted them now and not in several moments, which would have been yet more mortifying, the way things had been going. He looked down, not wanting to meet Watson's eyes, especially, once more fearing his scorn, and gingerly felt at his hip, which had knocked rather painfully against the floor during his fall.
Jan. 15th, 2007 04:45 am (UTC)
"Your hip," Watson put in abruptly, noticing Jeannot's discomfort and his doctor's instincts beginning to react, "You've hurt yourself."

Holmes made a gesture as though it was not important, and then, looking rather distressed, turned away entirely, muttering something unintelligible.

Watson cleared his throat meaningfully. "I beg your pardon, Holmes?"

Holmes turned around, somewhere between exasperated and sad. "It was in the interest of science," he snapped, then turned on his heel to run up the stairs.
Jan. 15th, 2007 04:52 am (UTC)
"Wow," Gabe muttered, a note of derision, watching Holmes flee. "That was mature." He stood up easily, having taken considerably less damage than Jeannot, and offered his love a hand. "I'm sorry," he said, though the entire thing wasn't his fault in the slightest. "You didn't hurt yourself too badly, I hope?"
